Customs Broker, Compliance Manager
International Freight Forwarder/Logistics

    SUMMARY: The Trade Compliance Manager manages, and maintains overall customs compliance procedures to ensure the company operates in conformity with various rules and regulations. Develops standardized policies, processes and best practices on customs compliance to ensure compliance with customs and other applicable government agency's regulations worldwide.

  • Technical regulatory and classification guidance for branches
  • Review and approve branch-validated powers of attorneys
  • Review and monitor post-entry work (PSCs, Protests, etc.) prior to submission to CBP
  • Review binding ruling requests
  • Manage compliance of reconciliation entries
  • Conduct brokerage branch compliance assessments
    o Monitor monthly compliance KPI's and publish the results monthly, quarterly and annually
    o Compile reports, conduct on-site evaluations, and issue summary report and recommendations
  • Classification for importers: quote pricing and perform certification and update database
  • Assist clients for compliance with PGA requirements
  • Monitor FMC tariff filing compliance. Update export control requirements
  • Require periodic employee training on export requirements
  • Maintain and oversee the corporate C-TPAT programs Conduct audits as needed
  • Assist vendors/customers on C-TPAT issues
  • Update C-TPAT training materials and staff training

  • 5 to 8 years management experience in the FF/ logistics Service industry.
  • Licensed Customs broker
  • strong classification & regulatory knowledge
  • Compliance policy development and auditing experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
