This position ensures that all facility equipment is maintained in safe, efficient operating condition.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires a high school diploma/GED or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience. Must have the ability to read and write English. Two (2) years of technical experience in mechanics is preferred, but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Refrigeration Certification is a plus.
Ability to read interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Work is medium to heavy in nature. The employee must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. - 75 lbs. occasionally. Repair work requires excellent hand and finger dexterity. There may be sufficient noise requiring the employee to shout in order to be heard. You must be able to read text that is close and at a distance with or without correction. Forklift operation requires distance vision. In addition you must be able to perform manual tasks, talk or hear, stand, kneel, sit, reach, bend, communicate and interact with others.
Activities occur both inside (protected from weather conditions, but not temperature changes) and outside. Employee is periodically exposed varying climates with temperature ranges from zero to 100+ degrees Fahrenheit. Hazardous conditions exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and working in high places.
Forklift, floor scrubber, and pallet jack. Additional equipment may include scissor lift, welder, grinder, cutting torch and a variety of hand tools.
