The Business Development Manager is responsible for increasing sales within the defined territory by targeting and establishing accounts for Aeronet, as well as maintaining, servicing and growing existing accounts. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience selling global logistics services and freight forwarding to include air, land and ocean.

Essential Job Duties include but not limited to:
  • Implement sales efforts in accordance with company policies, marketing plans and brand direction.
  • Manage sales growth ensuring defined top line and bottom line goals are met.
  • Serves as liaison between clientele and operational staff.
  • Prospect for new accounts via personal solicitation, telemarketing, direct mail, promotional events, etc. targeting accounts in New Jersey area on a regular basis.
  • Perform maintenance of accounts to established standards.
  • Prepare client quotations and presentation of proposals.
  • Generate an annual sales plan and track results on an ongoing basis comparing performance to plan and ensuring that budget will be met
  • Provide input to management to respond to changing market conditions, to improve internal efficiency and maximize results.

Job Qualifications and Skills

Required skills and qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelors in Business Management preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience selling in freight forwarding capacity
  • Proven results selling import and export services
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to multi task and meet project deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MSWord, Power Point, Excel,
  • Ability to work well in flexible, dynamic work environment
  • Proactive and self-starting team player

Physical Requirements


  • Body Positions: Standing and sitting for extended periods a great deal of movement (up/down) on daily basis.
  • Body Movements: Use of hands, arms, vision, and voice.
  • Driving 60% of the time

  • Requires mathematical and analytical skills in developing and interpreting financial/data records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas to all levels of management.

Working Conditions:
  • Mostly office setting with minimal varied temperature and noise.
  • May also use a home office setting
