National Account Development Representative - Mississauga, ON - Agility

This role is responsible for three primary purposes:

  1. Proactively securing new and profitable business across Agility Canada's logistics services portfolio - Air Freight, Sea Freight, Customs Brokerage and Overland for accounts with
  2. Develop existing business through regular client contact throughout Canada
  3. Generate leads and set appointments for outside sales for opportunities > 10K GP potential

The individual will be responsible for achieving quotas (KPI's) and goals on a national basis that will be outlined by management. The ideal candidate must have the ability to coordinate and manage organizational efforts and information by creating professional and effective business proposals. The National Account Development Representative will report directly to the Vice President Commercial.


  • Accountable to achieve assigned sales budget consistently
  • Qualify prospects for potential business by collecting and communicating market and customer information that will identify sales opportunities
  • Procure meetings for outside sales professionals by contacting organizations identified
  • Lead opportunity development when the total GP potential is <10K
  • Prepare sales quotations in accordance with standard procedures
  • Understand Agility pricing and cost components

Communications/Customer Service:

  • Ensure effective communications with both external clients and internal departments
  • Maintain the customer relationship to ensure account retention
  • Maintain CRM & pipeline Data accuracy as per company policies
  • Establish a forum to communicate market & competitor trends to the Product Groups and BD team members
  • Foster a spirit of interdepartmental co-operation through best practice initiatives and aligned goal setting
  • Insure effective onboarding of new business to Operations Coordinators (JP) and Customer Services Representatives (CS)
  • Extensive follow-up and -through activities, internally and externally
  • Recording and tracking of activities for measurements of objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • +2 years of working experience in the freight forwarding and/or transportation industry
  • Proven working experience of various international transportation products
  • +2 years sales/customer service experience in the freight forwarding/logistics industry required
  • Good business acumen and commercial skills


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Detail oriented with strong planning, organizational, project management and analytical skills
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Broad end-to-end background in logistics and supply chain with core focus on freight forwarding
  • Organizational skills including prioritizing, planning, assigning and controlling objectives
  • Ability to interact at all levels in an organization with strong inter-personal skills
  • Result oriented and places great emphasis on customer focus
  • Self-directed and motivated with a strong sense of urgency, focus on outcomes and drive for success with attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills-persuasive, empathetic, and able to handle conflict and pressure
  • Effective listener and communicator who shows empathy for the client's needs while continuing to fulfill the standard obligations of Agility
  • Must be able to work with little direction, conscientious of deadlines and works well under pressure
