Strategic Account Manager - Mississauga, ON - Agility

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for the growth of strategic account sales for his/her territory or target vertical. This individual will be responsible for hitting sales quotas and goals that will be outlined by management. He/she will travel to assigned territories to secure new business and deep sell existing customer base. The ideal candidate must have the ability to coordinate and manage organizational efforts and information by creating professional and effective business proposals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for selling logistics solutions to customers
  • Maintain CRM per company policy
  • Responsible for creating new business through contact with prospective customers in the assigned market
  • Responsible for selling new services to new customers
  • Responsible for identifying market trends and competitive rate actions and communicating those trends to the Product Group
  • Responsible for identifying, targeting, qualifying, and quantifying and securing cargo commitments with directed sales involvement that meet and exceed the business plan forecast
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment by developing, engaging and maintaining a short and long-term forecast and marketing plan
  • Responsible for assisting and facilitating in the preparation of regional RFQ's and bids
  • Responsible for identifying the competitive service strengths and weaknesses of the company and making recommendations to constantly improve
  • Responsible for reviewing and reporting monthly performance
  • Responsible for understanding Agility pricing and cost components
  • Responsible for other duties including: sales presentations, writing sales proposals, implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of working experience in the freight forwarding and/or transportation industry
  • Demonstrated closing skills
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written with tendencies to create collaborative engagements
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that builds respected professional relationships internally & externally
  • +5 years sales experience in the freight forwarding/logistics industry required
  • Good business acumen and commercial skills.
  • "Hunter" by nature.-

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Broad end-to-end background in logistics and supply chain with core focus on freight forwarding
  • Project Management background preferred
  • Organizational skills including prioritizing, planning, assigning and controlling objectives
  • Ability to interact at all levels in an organization with strong inter-personal skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team with varied backgrounds/functions/products
  • Result oriented and places great emphasis on customer focus
  • Self-directed and motivated with a strong sense of urgency, focus on outcomes and drive for success with attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills-persuasive, empathetic, and able to handle conflict and pressure
  • Effective listener and communicator who shows empathy for the client's needs while continuing to fulfill the standard obligations of Agility
  • Must be able to work with little direction and is conscientious of deadlines
