IMPORT EXPORT COORDINATOR -
AIR / OCEAN FREIGHT | INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS
Position Summary
This position is responsible for activities related to Import and Export shipments (Air and Ocean). Candidates must have strong background in Freight Forwarding, able to work in fast-paced environment, while maintaining clear communication with Customers, Logistics service providers, Warehouses and Mgt. to assure operations meet goals and objectives.
This is a full time position requiring daily attendance during
established work hours. Start on time and be ready to work every scheduled work day.
- Responsible for Coordinating import and Export activities including reviewing documents received from overseas, tracing incoming shipments with steamship lines, creating arrival notices and making arrangements for customs clearance with broker and handling delivery instructions.
- Generate, file, maintain up-to-date customer records, reports, documentation, database, etc.
- Coordinate Shipments with importers, truckers, and carriers.
- Arrange both delivery and the invoicing of the import account for services rendered
- Prepare billing package, bill file, email/mail to clients
REQUIREMENTS - 3 years' or more experience in Import or Export Operations with an NVOCC/Freight Forwarder
- Basic knowledge of INCO terms, Customs regulations and other government agency requirements
- Solid knowledge of domestic and int'l geography including countries, major cities and ocean ports along with basic knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Laws
- PC Proficient: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests.
