Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated sales professional with experience and a desire to grow our business. We will provide excellent support to help in your success. This position will plan and carry out direct sales activities to attain new accounts in accordance with agreed sales and business plans.

An existing and/or active customer base is desirable, but all applicants will be considered. Core target accounts will be US based companies importing or exporting product by air and/or ocean requiring complete end to end services.

Sales territory will be the New England region.

This individual will collaborate with management and operational staff to grow revenue and exceed targets by promoting/selling the business and driving sales activity through a designated territory, while using discretion and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

Solicit and secure business from accounts currently not using our services

Transition own book of business to our services

Maintain and develop both your own and assigned house accounts.

Support trade lane growth with overseas offices.

Negotiate both buy and sell rates with customers and carriers using internal resources where relevant.

Generate leads through cold calling, networking and referrals.

Professional follow-up and coordination between customers and carriers

Through use of CRM provide documented activity reports of your sales activities, visits, follow up reports, quotes etc…

Follow all company policies, ethics and company procedures



Job Requirements:
Requirements

Minimum 3 years' sales experience within the NVOCC/logistics/freight forwarding industry

Self-motivated and customer service-oriented

Good communication skills, consultative sales approach and attention to detail

No enforceable encumbrances with prior employers
