Quality Engineer, Senior.
Implement, maintain, and continuously improve Timken quality capability for Industrial and Aerospace Bearing Manufacturing with conformance to ISO9000:2000 and AS9100 quality systems. Assure quality system compliance to business, customer, and regulatory requirements, including operator certifications, adherence to customer/engineering specifications, and resolution of customer, internal, and supplier quality issues.
Lead customer and third-party audits of the Timken Shiloh Plant quality system.
Assume role of lead auditor for the plant; managing internal audit systems, schedules, and outputs (IQA, LPA, etc.).
Drive completion of corrective actions to close gaps identified in customer, third-party, and internal audits.
Assist in development and training of associates in quality system procedures and work instructions.
Develop and maintain open communications to effectively resolve issues related to the quality system. This includes local operations and associates, and also other Timken locations, business units, customers, and suppliers.
Take a lead role in investigation, problem solving, and timely response to product quality issues, manufacturing issues, and information requests related to customer inquiries, returns, concerns, and/or complaints.
Take an active role in Internal Failure reduction, rework reduction, flow path problem solving, and customer satisfaction improvement efforts.
Participate on appropriate cross-functional continuous improvement teams, as required to meet plant business plan objectives.
Drive AS, ISO, and NADCAP issue resolution.
Assist quality engineer in defining proper measurement methods, tooling, and procedures specific to flowpath product line.
Required Skills and Experience
Solid understanding of quality core tools (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
Strong auditing skills and ability to determine compliance to quality standards.
Skill in interpreting quality system requirements of AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, etc.
Skill using other fundamental quality tools (pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, 5-why, etc.).
Strong ability to apply logic, reasoning, and data analysis to solve complex problems.
Blueprint reading ability and knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Skill in learning, navigating, and working in various databases
Contract review skills.
Education and Certifications
Associates Degree in technical field Required.
Bachelor's Degree in technical field Preferred.
Certified Quality Auditor Preferred.
