As a Manager of a small business, you will be involved in all areas of the operation. We will expect that you will be ready and willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. This is not a 9-5 job, and your days and hours may vary depending on the company needs.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the below.
- Monday – Friday: TBA
- Tuesday – Saturday: 2 times per month
Managing the day-to-day operations of 10 employees
Setting policies & procedures, Breaking shift with Managers, Work Flow (working the board)
Accounting, FK / YYZ / LHR Management interaction (daily basis), Phone / In Person Staff meetings
Employee Evaluation – strengths & weaknesses
Placement in Operation, Process improvement , Workflow Management, Email Management, Development, Training / Cross-training, Vacation and staffing, Conflict resolution, Managing Overtime, Employee write ups / verbal – written (Personal Improvement Plans)
Customer Service Management
Liaise with clients, Pricing / quoting – Domestic-International (comprehensive rate quotes), CIF All-Risk Coverage – Managing Claims, Documentation / Reports, Project Management, Cost & Profitability (invoicing /auditing)
Agent / Vendor Management
Airline negotiations, Rate charts
Warehouse / Office Management
Storage spreadsheet (pieces / weights / location / billing), Warehouse Cleanliness, Loading / Unloading trucks, Forklift Operation, Bagging / shrink wrapping material, Airport runs if necessary, Office Cleanliness, Desk tops clean (cluttered)
Weekend phone monitoring
Approximately six times per year, Reimbursement, Saturday night to Monday AM
Cleanliness, PM (Preventive Maintenance), State Compliance, Driver review / training
Security Threat Assessment must pass, X-Ray / Scanning machine / physical search, KSMS, "Backtrack" inspections, Security Coordinator / Alternate, Facility Security
BASE PAY WEEKLY SALARY (paid bi-weekly – ADP)
- VACATION (Accrued - ADP):
- 2 weeks' vacation – First year from start date
- 3 weeks' vacation – Second year from start date & onward

- Bluebird JFK office
