Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Millwright is responsible for safely performing routine and preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting and repairing process problems, along with the installation of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment within all departments of Graymont's Green Bay, Wisconsin plant.
Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Observing and giving feedback and recognition to fellow employees, contractors and visitors on safe or unsafe behaviors.
  • Participating and regular Health and Safety meetings.
  • Taking all practicable steps to work safely at all times and ensuring others to also.
  • Ensuring the accurate reporting and recording of all health and safety incidents, near misses, good catches, or hazards in a timely fashion using company procedures and systems.
  • Adhering to all Graymont policies, principles and procedures.
  • Ensuring you have completed all relevant health and safety training.
  • Respond to MSHA requests for action in a timely manner.
  • Being aware of environmental requirements at the site, and to adopt common sense environmental practices.
  • Complying with all Graymont policies
  • Acting in accordance with operating procedures relating to minimizing environmental impacts
  • Taking all reasonable precautions to prevent risks to the environment, advising management promptly of any risks, problems or accidents which might arise.
Maintenance Services
  • Execution of Work Orders for daily/weekly maintenance activities and closing the same in JDE.
  • Participating in the scheduled checks of plant equipment and machineries.
  • Provide timely and reliable feedback on the condition of the equipment in each process area (i.e. kiln 1, kiln 2, hydrator and transloading).
  • Routinely inspecting the area and implement preventative maintenance activities and bringing major issues to the Maintenance Supervisor for action.
  • Implement and/or providing support to new projects.
  • Attending the regular production meeting review performance, discuss concerns and coordinate issues with the department.
  • Help prepare reports for consolidation with production and maintenance;
  • Establishing and maintaining good working contacts and relationships with service providers to ensure a continuous pool of contractors in the plant.
  • Conducting housekeeping to work areas and seeing to it that raw materials and products are free from debris to avoid contamination
  • Responding to the requests of the production by creating plans or sketches for any new ideas they suggest and recommend the same to supervisor for action.
  • Recommending new initiatives that will help improve production processes and procedures.
  • Help manage contractors in the execution of project seeing to it that jobs are carried out safely, efficiently and at the lowest possible costs
  • Help assess contractors in their performance as to time, quality and costs of the project and their safety performance.
Other duties:
  • Duties may be varied from time to time consistent with the employee's training and skills and such varied duties are to be performed to standards that will be specified as required.
  • Journeyman Millwright Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work rotating shifts as required.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication is essential, along with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Driver License
  • The incumbent must be prepared to travel as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
