Account Executive, Customs Brokerage - Mississauga, ON - Agility Logistics

Job Description

Responsible for proactively securing new and profitable business across Agility Canada's logistics services portfolio with a focus on Canada Customs Brokerage. Maintain and develop existing business through regular client contact. This individual will be responsible for achieving sales quotas and goals as outlined by management. Will travel to assigned territories to secure new business. The ideal candidate must have the ability to coordinate and manage organizational efforts and information by creating professional and effective business proposals. The Account Executive will report directly to the Branch Manager or other delegate as the company deems necessary.

Primary job duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Sales
  • Be accountable to achieve assigned sales budget consistently as defined by Agility Management with 100% of activities focused on New Business Generation in the first year of employment
  • Customs Brokerage sales focus is required
  • Qualify selected prospects for potential business by collecting and communicating market and customer information that will identify sales opportunities
  • Prepare target customer list (opportunities with the potential to exceed as per current incentive requirements) as well as weekly and monthly actions on target list
  • Support the implementation of new business in accordance with Agility's Implementation process
  • Identifying territory market trends and competitive rate actions
  • Understand Agility pricing and cost components
  • Maintain and grow the existing business as defined in the yearly Sales Plan set by management
Communications/Customer Service
  • Ensure effective communications with both external clients and internal departments
  • Maintain CRM & pipeline per Management's policy
  • Establish a forum to communicate market & competitor trends to the Product Groups and general sales staff
  • Foster a spirit of interdepartmental co-operation through best practice initiatives and aligned goal setting
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

All Education and Experience requirements comply with provincial human rights legislation.

Education and Experience include:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years customs brokerage sales experience
  • Minimum of 5 years freight forwarding sales experience
  • Demonstrated closing skills
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written with tendencies to create collaborative engagements
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that build respected professional relationships internally & externally
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
