Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager will manage all inbound/outbound transportation (FCL, LCL, FTL, LTL and parcel) to/from MetroNet end users including the distribution centers, field warehouses and external customers.  The manager will also play a key role in controlling freight spend by driving creative solutions with logistics partners, vendors, and internal teams.  The manager will implement internal processes and develop carrier relationships to control costs and improve supply chain capabilities. 

What you will be doing:
  • Develop and improve processes including container consolidation, air/ocean transportation, inland trucking, customs compliance, and vendor payment audit.
  • Oversee and manage Asia Pacific Logistics/Consolidation partners to ensure product moves seamlessly to the US distribution center and field warehouses.
  • Manage the coordination of inventory movement from factories to cfs to US destinations providing end to end visibility to all stakeholders.
  • Negotiate with ocean/air logistics partners to ensure best cost and service
  • Work with ocean carriers to secure sufficient vessel capacity and provide immediate visibility to any supply chain disruptions.
  • Manage relationship with US Customs broker and MetroNet's customs compliance audits and procedures.
  • Coordinate annual import compliance awareness training for key supply chain and finance team members.
  • Analyze financial impact of logistics changes, routing, shipping modes, etc.
  • Select carriers and third-party services
  • Audit, approve and process invoices from 3rd party logistics service providers (ocean/air) carriers and consolidation operation.
  • Manage projects cross functional projects as assigned.

What You Need For This Position:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business, or related field
  • 5 years of global logistics experience
  • Strong knowledge of ocean freight, consolidation and domestic FTL and LTL trucking
  • Experience working with customs brokers, compliance and commercial documentation
  • Ability to manage and strategically integrate logistics processes
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with strength in multi-tasking in a fast-paced growth environment
