Director of Operations - FINAL MILE - $145 to 150K base Bonus Benefits - Lots of Growth
Work Remote - Final Mile Experience- Dispatch - North America - Driver Operations/Driver Planning - Service Delivery.
Our client, a leading 3PL Warehousing and Distribution company continues to expand their FINAL MILE BUSINESS throughout North America.
As the Director you will oversee, the performance of the Final Mile Division.
You will be responsible for Drivers, Vendors, Partners, Clients, Dispatch and Delivery services with a focus on operational and service excellence!
You will be a key member of Logistics team and will have a couple of direct reports.
Give guidance involving driver relationships and development including evaluations, contract negotiations, pricing, and service escalations.
Participate in client facing business reviews as required.
Oversee Dispatch throughout North America.
Analyze client relations development/opportunities and provides thought leadership on those aspects both to clients and internally.
Responsible for driver capacity planning.
Ensure Billing & Payable activities are standardized and cost effective, with performance metrics established that ensure the highest levels of accuracy for both clients and drivers/partners.
Ensure all orders are dispatched on time and manage driver capacity
Develop, implement and manage KPI's.
Efficiently manage routing changes and organize resources to make sure deliveries and services are completed in a timely fashion.
Continually assess the service level and provide recommendations to manager regarding opportunities to improve operational performance.
Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators and cost factors impacting operational effectiveness.
Review technology to enhance service performance.
Work with cross functional teams to achieve goals.
IDEALLY WORK FOR A FINAL MILE COMPANY
Degree or diploma in Business or Logistics/Transportation.
10 + years Management experience in Final Mile
Previously managing Driver operations, dispatch, financials, customer relations is required in a logistics transportation delivery environment.
Skilled in software systems, specifically transportation/dispatch systems, Microsoft Office, and transport routing software.
Proven history of prioritizing the needs of customers and taking proactive steps to drive operational excellence with the customer experience being the key focus.
Strong interpersonal skills including negotiating, client relations, problem solving and troubleshooting.
Develop strong relationships internally and externally.
Self directed individual with a keen attention to detail.
Highly developed leadership skills including selection, coaching, and developing team members, evaluating performance, team building, and administration and operational planning including budgeting and resource allocation.
Communication skills including an ability to interact with all levels of the organization
and with clients/vendors.
Time management skills including an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Create, maintain and manage capacity data.
Solid financial acumen and experience with P&L's, budget creation and financial reporting related to transportation/final mile operations is preferred.
