Summary
The Director of Operations manages the day to day to aspects of customer service, operations, systems, and business development. This position will have a direct impact on Expak's operations as it relates to transportation and warehousing services with involvement in carrier and vendor selection, management of TMS/WMS systems, and managing multiple employees within the organization. The Director of Operations will report into the Vice President of Operations and the CEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for identifying and selecting new 3rd party vendors for the organization, including by not limited to, courier, transportation, and warehousing.
  • Work with vendors to ensure that KPI's and operational metrics are being met in a timely manner.
  • Conduct site visits and phone calls with current vendors.
  • Monitor TMS and WMS systems from 3rd party vendors.
  • Establish standard operation procedures internal use and for 3rd party vendors to ensure projects and deadlines are met in an efficient manner.
  • Train vendors on Expak's needs and method of operations.
  • Oversee the customer service team and its cloud-based CRM.
  • Support the business development team by reviewing potential opportunities and address any areas of concern prior to onboarding new vendors.
  • Participate in sales meetings with prospective and/ or current customers.



Requirements:
  • 7 years of progressive experience in 3rd party logistics.
  • Experience managing aspects of customer service, IT, and operations teams.
  • Strong understanding of multiple WMS, TMS, and YMS systems.
  • Experience in selecting 3PL vendors, including modes of transportation, and warehousing.
  • Involvement with onboarding new clients and customers.
  • Bachelor's degree or high education.
