Position Summary: The Quality Assuarance Supervisor is responsible for deploying a team of Quality Assurance Technicians to ensure the products we purchase, and manufacture meet the needs of our customers. The Quality Supervisor assists the Quality Manager in making improvements and corrections to the quality management system. The Quality Supervisor works with Quality Engineers, Product Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Metallurgists to ensure inspections and tests are performed accurately and consistently. The Quality Supervisor reports to the Quality Manager.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Supervise team of Quality Technicians, Metrologisst and other quality professionals. This includes schedules, time and attendance, and disciplinary activities as needed.
  • Ensure adequate quality coverage for all production areas in the Chain and Auger facilities. This includes scheduling overtime as needed to provide support as needed.
  • Make certain the incoming product is inspected and released in a timely manner.
  • Analyze data and create improvement plans based upon defect, reject, scrap, or complaint data.
  • Manage Sorting activities by requesting resources as needed to keep product flowing. Communicate the reasons for sorting and work with Area Managers to reduce sorting.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
  • Communicate Engineering Change Notices to Quality personnel
  • Implement Quality Alerts and verifies their effectiveness.
  • Provide Inspection and Test Data for PPAP submissions to Quality Engineer
  • Plan and implement projects to reduce manufacturing costs, improve processes, increase product quality and reliability and enhance process capability.
  • Support the gathering of data and the reporting of related Quality Metrics.
  • Follow management of change process and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Report quality trends to Quality Leadership.
  • Research and understand technical results received for the quality department.
  • Promote, supports, creates, and manages process improvements within the quality department.
  • Conduct Internal, External, and special audits as scheduled.
  • Understand and utilize Manufacturing quality methods and procedures.
  • Additional duties will be required upon request.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A self-starter.
  • Ability to supervise others and make sure all performance expectations are communicated clearly.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to manage project timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with peers, all levels of management and external customers.
  • Ability to problem solve independently and with others.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Fluent in internal auditing practices and contribute to the audit team as necessary.
  • Understands document control and how to maintain it is effective.
  • Understands Quality Standards and able to interpret them.
  • Familiar with American Petroleum Industry (API) is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, database information sources and web applications. Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
  • Utilization and understanding of CAD drawings.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma required. Plus 3-5 years of experience in a quality or supervisory position. Engineering or other bachelor's degree is preferred, and/or certification with ASQ as a Quality Engineer.
