Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking an ambitious Senior Accountant to join our team in Reading, PA. Primary responsibilities will include recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, and completing month end analytics. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a senior role. In addition, the candidate has in-depth knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule: Partial Remote (2 days remote and 3 days onsite)
Major Responsibilities:
- Monthly and quarterly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform month-end closing activities including preparation of journal entries and analysis of the Income Statement.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues as they occur in a timely manner.
- Continually improve processes through standardization, enhancements, and potential automation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Collaborate with process owners and other stakeholders throughout Finance to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- 3 years of accounting experience required
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting required
- CPA, a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels.
- Strong problem solving, judgment, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and self-prioritize work.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required
- Experience with AS400 and/or OneStream XF, a plus
- Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of the job. Associates are currently permitted to work remotely up to two days per week.
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
