Purpose and Scope

The position is responsible for the following areas: direct management of the production process and team in the area of responsibility, ensuring continuous improvement of safety/5S, quality and productivity and applying problem solving and ensuring high quality operations and production output based on production plans, as well as ensuring the fulfillment of all required standards, regulations, policies and procedures in the area of responsibility. The area manager job component requires also development of subordinate employees supporting the achievement of goals. works with the lean group on lean development strategies, coordinating the high-level lean activities plan throughout the plant by coordination of multi-disciplined teams across the plant to accomplish goals and objectives of the plant's business plan.

Responsibilities

- Communicates the lean strategy to enable them to work out a long-term lean development strategy that meets corporate requirements and plant's business plan objectives.

- Lean activities should aim at waste reduction, i.e.minimizing resources used for production, improving production flow, optimizing inventory level and space use, problem solving, increasing productivity and reducing production costs.

- Provides BP implementation for subordinate area.

- Ensures the application of all standards in subordinate area. Creates and develop them (Standards)

- Responsible for performance in the area of safety and 5S. Creates tactics with subordinate team to eliminate safety risk and improve ergonomics. Effectively enforces compliance with all requirements (ex. OHSA, Labor Code, etc.).

- Responsible for compliance with TQMS requirements, quality results from BP for subordinate area and system audit results, Ensures cooperation with Quality and New Product department and new product on the implementation of new projects and solutions.

- Responsible for production results in subordinate area according to Lean principles.

- Optimizes production costs in subordinate area, and proposes and assures the implementation of savings projects

- Ensures team development through the Leadership Pipeline and PZWP process. Enforces labor discipline and PZWP process. Motivates and evaluates the associate's performance.

- Ensures that all operations in the area of responsibility comply with legal regulations, internal regulations, standards and corporate policies.

Education Requirement

Minimum-High school Diploma/GED

Preferred-Associate/Bachelor of Production Management/Logistics/Engineer of Prodcution Management

Licsense or Certification

Preferred-Corporate Lean Leader Certificate-Lean knowledge and implementation

Previous Job Experience

  • 5-7 years preferred-Lean Leader-People/project management/coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
  • 7-10 years preferred-Project management- Implementation of lean projects in operations environment.
  • 20 years minimum-Production/Process/Supervisor-Production process knowledge/people management.
