PURPOSE:
This position supports original equipment (OE) customers and aftermarket demand orders for suppliers. The role involves using SAP to convert customer and aftermarket demand into supplier orders, resolving supply issues, and achieving customer service and inventory targets. Key responsibilities include managing component flow, interfacing with suppliers and manufacturing facilities, and maintaining inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Component Management: Oversee the flow of components to production plants, manage exceptions, create purchase orders, and generate open order reports.
- Problem-Solving: Address supply issues within supplier capacity and work directly with manufacturing facilities and plant schedulers to resolve raw material or component supply problems.
- Service Goals: Achieve customer service-related goals, including Availability to Request, On-Time Delivery (OTD) to Promise, and Stock-In rate.
- Inventory Management: Maintain statistical safety stock levels to mitigate supply and demand variability and meet service performance metrics.
- Financial Targets: Achieve financial goals for component and raw material inventory, adjusting for demand volume as needed.
- Demand Interpretation: Use SAP to review customer demand and understand production operations at various suppliers to determine appropriate production quantities and locations.
- Supplier Coordination: Review and adjust supplier orders in collaboration with plants, suppliers, and strategic sourcing to meet demand targets.
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify when to request more or less capacity from strategic sourcing and make necessary adjustments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- High School Diploma with equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
- Knowledge of SAP and Excel preferred.
