Wazee Crane, a division of the Timken Company, has an opening for a Project Engineer at our Broomfield, CO location. The role of the Project Engineer to design and deliver complex electro-mechanical lifting equipment from inception to completion to the customer and be a subject matter expert in overhead material handling design, applicable codes, cost structure, and integration with customer facilities. This position reports into the Engineering and Customer Service Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Independently manage multiple concurrent highly technical capital construction projects for a wide variety of external and internal customers in the industrial, aerospace, infrastructure, and commercial spaces
  • Mechanical, structural, and electrical design of a wide variety of raw materials and components to produce a custom finished engineered product
  • Intake technical customer RFPs complete with specifications and drawings to produce technical estimates of working machines which are commercially competitive, specification and code compliant, and delivered in a timely manner
  • Provide operations personnel with design information and technical direction as to the manufacture of custom machinery
  • Aid in the development of technical quotations
  • Work closely with internal and external points of contact to ensure 100% TSB

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering required; mechanical engineering preferred
  • Seven (7) years of experience working as a mechanical, electrical, or structural design engineer required; ten (10) preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience managing projects required; five (5) preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience quoting or estimating projects
  • CAD drawing and modeling experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Solidworks; experience in both preferred
  • Mechanical and structural design experience
  • Basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals
  • Ability to interpret and apply design codes
  • Strong computer skills: proficient in MS 365/Office Suite and Acrobat required; Epicor preferred

Work Environment

  • This position works 5 days per week on-site at our Broomfield, CO manufacturing facility
  • Work schedule is generally 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.

The yearly compensation for this role is $91,000 - $125,000, is commensurate on experience and education, and could pay more or less than the posted range. This full-time position is eligible to participate in the company's short-term incentive program, paid time off plan, 401k, and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision.
