As the District Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple groups and initiatives to drive productivity improvement and deliver on company goals. You will identify and find solutions for operational deficiencies across different sites within the district, and work closely with sales and operations district leadership to drive strategic initiatives.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Execute sales and operational initiatives that deliver on EBITDA goals within the district
  • Train district management teams on company initiatives to ensure successful rollout and sustainment
  • Aggressively search for opportunities to improve operational execution and profitability
  • Develop and implement solutions working with local management teams to deliver cost savings
  • Validate savings to your District General Manager
  • Work at the direction of the District General Manager to improve execution on key quantifiable objectives, such as EBITDA improvement, service targets, cost targets, damage improvement, and accident and injury performance
  • Analyze inefficient and underperforming accounts to find solutions; implement and sustain profit/yield improvement

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales and supply chain management techniques and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong leadership skills
  • Ability to perform and direct moderately complex analysis in spreadsheet and database programs, such as MS Excel and MS Access
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information
  • Availability to travel up to 75%

It'd be great if you also have:

  • 5 years of experience in a supply chain, procurement, maintenance, or transportation service company with some Less-than-Truckload (LTL) experience
  • Profit and Loss experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in a team-focused environment
