What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategic sales strategies and initiatives; identify opportunities for sales process improvements and successfully implement new programs
  • Design, implement and manage a high quality, accurate and consistent sales forecast; monitor and drive cleanliness of Salesforce.com data to improve overall pipeline management
  • Measure sales force effectiveness, analyze business trends and investigate opportunities for growth; proactively collect, monitor, analyze and communicate targeted, relevant sales information and business/customer/competitor intelligence
  • Recommend sales territory and coverage models, infrastructure, team configuration (including assessment of hiring needs) and strategic account assignments
  • Work closely with Global Sales Operations, Accounting, Finance and HR to establish rules, policies and procedures associated with global sales compensation
  • Support sales programs across lines of business, territories and regions, including forecasting, managing opportunities, using consistent sales methodology and sharing best practices
  • Partner with sales leaders and IT to adopt technologies aimed at improving productivity; recommend changes and enhancements to Salesforce.com to ensure usability and compliance for the sales team
  • Support and participate in sales force training programs that are focused on developing and reinforcing critical sales competencies

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data/Analytics, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 3 years of business or sales analytics experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sophisticated CRM systems; experience implementing and driving usage and accountability
  • Experience in change management, leading transformation and scaling for a global organization

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Master's degree in Business, Data/Analytics, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Experience in Less-than-Truckload (LTL) or the logistics and supply chain industry
  • Experience and working knowledge of Salesforce.com
  • Excellent planning, operational and analytical skills; proven ability to apply these skills to complex situations with competing priorities
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, while leading through inspiration, to drive process improvements
