As the Financial Accountant, you will produce, audit, maintain and distribute complex financial reports and reviews. You'll also perform record keeping activities and provide input to senior leaders. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Maintain general ledger accounts
  • Determine journal entry requirements, post entries, reconcile accounts, and report and monitor closing results
  • Review work of accounting specialists as needed
  • Perform analysis of financial results as part of the financial and operational review process
  • Analyze and project expected outcomes or results
  • Conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations and other financial controls in compliance with company policy and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Conduct preliminary review of financial reports before final close of general ledger
  • Prepare and present data on operating results and other financial accounting issues to senior executives

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a large, multinational company, preparing and auditing complex financial reports
  • 2 years of fixed assets experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Oracle ERP

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Ability to receive, protect and maintain confidential information
  • Strong skills in business writing and editing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with peers, end users and all levels of corporate management
