As the Senior Analyst of FP&A, you will partner with assigned corporate department leaders by preparing financial reports, analyses, and forecasts, and working with key stakeholders to achieve objectives. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Assist in the budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes; working cross-functionally to influence stakeholders
  • Develop tools for the early identification of cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations
  • Assist in Monthly Operating Reviews through preparation of schedules and presentations for senior management that clearly communicate operational and financial performance, as well as issues requiring intervention, their status, and suggested solutions
  • Monitor and report financial performance, analyze and interpret operating results, investigate variances and unusual items, and evaluate their effect on operations
  • Align and build partnerships across functional areas to raise awareness of financial performance and promote communication of regional issues
  • Complete ad hoc reporting to support multiple stakeholders in a cross-functional matrix environment, balancing their needs and perspectives to maximize the company's interests

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project); ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel, and quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications

It'd be great if you also have:

  • MBA or CPA
  • 3 years of related experience including budgeting and forecasting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Ability to develop insightful, value-added, and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results; produce unambiguous, comprehensive, and accurate interpretations
  • Ability to utilize a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
