Job Title: Maintenance Worker
Description: Installs, maintains and repairs machinery and equipment in an industrial establishment following specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings through the use of hand tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring and testing instruments. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment using electrical and electronic test equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose the problem and repair the machine. Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery through the use of rags, brushes and a grease gun. Installs and repairs electrical apparatus of the machinery and equipment such as the electrical components. Lies out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. May set up and operate machine tools such as a lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools. Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or company management. Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with Timken policies, procedures, and standards.
Overall Purpose: Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.

5. Work closely with Safety and Maintenance Coordinator on safety teams and on safety improvements.
Physical Demands & Frequency: Requires frequent lifting and bending; reaching, fingering, near acuity and depth perception.

General Educational Development: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
Qualifications/Training: Requires training and experience.
Aptitudes: Requires spatial perception, form perception, manual dexterity and finger dexterity.
Temperaments: Must be able to perform a variety of duties; often changing from one task to another without the loss of efficiency. Requires precise attainment of standards, making evaluations or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria.
