Assure associate safety through planning, management, and action to meet all regulatory and Timken requirements for safety and environmental excellence.
Develop, deploy, monitor, and assure attainment of annual Safety Process Plan. This Plan provides a framework for manager engagement, associate training, accident response, hazard analysis and prevention, and emergency response.
Perform facility and operational compliance audits; identify gaps and improvement opportunities; plan, track and manage improvements; record and report safety actions and performance.
Ensure comprehensive associate training and education to meet safety requirements and expectations, and to promote a culture of safety engagement. Evaluate safety training needs, plan, develop, and deliver safety training, document safety training completion, maintain and communicate safety training requirements.
Lead and facilitate teams to investigate every safety and environmental incident, including each near miss, utilizing root cause problem solving to implement effective recurrence prevention countermeasures. Plan, track, and drive corrective actions to completion.
Lead Carolina Star (OSHA VPP) compliance and recertification actions.
Manage the following:
- PBS (Perception Based Safety) Team
- Safety Gemba Team
- Evacuation Team
- Spill Response Team
- First Responder Team
- Contractor Safety Program
Required education, skills, and experience
Bachelor's degree in business, technical, or safety field
7 years of experience as safety supervisor, coordinator, or equivalent in a manufacturing environment
OSHA 30-Hour Certification
Demonstrated leadership ability
Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication ability
Skill in teaching, coaching, and presenting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
