Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the inventory field preferred. 1+ years of inventory management experience.
- Material handling equipment certification preferred, but can be acquired post-employment.
Job Summary
Evaluate and execute purchasing patterns to recommend products required to fulfill inventory needs of a distribution center. Ensure inventory is controlled and accurate through regular cycle counting and quarterly inventory audits..
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Generates inventory study reports, evaluates usage trends and makes recommendations to for purchases.
- Researches and resolves all slotting issues, adjustments, and discrepancies while also ensuring compliance with established internal control procedures.
- Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy by completing follow up to all previous inventory adjustments then completes and reviews cycle counts.
- Creates and maintains items within CSI ensuring that entry is in approved format and has captured all necessary information.
- Performs daily cycle count, completes variance research as required and makes necessary adjustments to balance inventory.
- Leads quarterly inventory process and works with General Manager and Operations Manager to document variance notes and submit supporting journal.
- Partners with regional support teams to create and define network standards. Supports sales team with ETAs, Specials and inventory related questions.
- Tracks and recommends rolls that may be returned. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure that return was processed and cleared.

- Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
- Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
Work Environment
- Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
