Trade Compliance and Security Specialist


Woodland Group are seeking a full time Trade Compliance and Security Specialist for our Team in New York. The Trade Compliance and Security Specialist will reporting directly to the US Compliance Manager, and working closely with all Woodland Departments across the US supporting all trade compliance related matters, with opportunities for growth into expanded job responsibilities.


100% office-based


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the US Compliance Manager in implementing effective strategies that ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Work with the team to continually improve processes and business performance;
  • Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward; and
  • Work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly.
  • Achieve agreed individual objectives and hit sales targets; and
  • Understand and adhere to all Woodland policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Review import/export data and generate reports from multiple systems for analysis and compliance reporting.
  • Extract monthly non-conformance reports and provide analysis of the findings to the US Compliance Manager.
  • Responsible for Claims reported by each US Branch, including follow -up with customers, operators, and insurance companies.
  • Conduct Export Compliance Spot Checks and data collection to identify and address compliance gaps within current processes.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of training records over TSA, Dangerous Goods, and Export Compliance for Woodland US employees.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records to satisfy compliance and audit requirements in Descartes, Veroot, Salesforce, and FCL.
  • Review Denied Party Screenings for Woodland in Descartes Visual Compliance.
  • Provide support to Woodland Brokerage and Woodland operational teams as needed.
  • Assist with responses to government inquiries and other trade-related matters with TSA, Export Compliance, and Dangerous Goods regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of internal trade compliance policies, procedures, training, and communications.
  • Participate in ongoing training to remain current in evolving international supply chain regulations and standards.
  • Work with the team to continually improve processes and business performance;

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in trade and logistics, preferably within the organization or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with TSA, Export Compliance, and Dangerous Goods requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, international business, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and process improvement.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and effective multitasking abilities.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and results oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and experience generating reports from business systems.
