Philadelphia Gear is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager to support sales in the greater Pacific region. The role of the Regional Sales Manager is to oversee and manage an existing network or representatives in the region and grow sales in the region defined while optimizing profit, marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. This team is responsible for driving business growth in gearbox repairs, parts, new units, and drivetrain sales. The Regional Sales Manager will report to the DSS International and OEM Sales Manager.
There is no relocation package with this opportunity.
Essential Responsibilities
- Meet company objectives for product sales and profitability
- Maintain existing product sales, while formulating new product line strategy to assure market growth
- Monitor and be held accountable for financial performance of the group; take corrective action as needed or directed
- Manage and develop an existing network of regional representatives within the territory
- Meet operational requirements and follow up on results
- Set up dealer networks in new markets
- Visit customers and quickly assess needs, oversee engineering specifications, and convert customer opportunities into profitable sales
- Manage existing sales staff, make joint sales calls, and assist in closing large or complicated orders
- Direct sales efforts to assure customer inquiries are handled in a professional, efficient, and timely manner
- Provide sales training and other development needs as identified to sales force; render and document disciplinary action as needed
- Direct all aspects of the sales operation to the highest level of professionalism
- Willingness to travel as necessary, typically 50% or more
- This role is primarily remote and has a high level of autonomy
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, engineering, business, or manufacturing preferred
- 15+ years of experiences in industrial sales, preferably with focus on power transmission
- General industrial knowledge and mechanical aptitude
- Previous management or leadership experience preferred
- Excellent computer skills; proficient in MS365/Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
- Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills, in person, and on the telephone
